Dave Pasternack, Didit

Dave Pasternack, Didit CEO and Co-Founder

Dave co-founded fully integrated marketing and communications firm, Didit, with Kevin Lee in 1996. Prior to this, he launched the United States Information Corporation, which became one of the largest electronic publishers of Federal Government bidding and contract information in the United States.

Dave’s first technological direct marketing company, Logicsoft, was founded in 1980 and was named by Inc. Magazine as the 4th fastest growing private company of 1984.

Dave earned his MBA from New York University. A devoted golfer, he lives with his family on Long Island.

Debra Scala Giokas, Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman, LLP

Debra is a pioneer in the field of law firm marketing on Long Island. She has taught at Dowling College and Hofstra University’s School of Continuing Education. Debra has spoken on marketing and communications topics to various trade organizations and associations, as well as to student groups seeking career advice.

The Public Relations Professionals of Long Island’s (“PRPLI”) recognized Debra in 2012, awarding her its Mentor Award. She was one of eight women to receive a 2006 Town of Islip Distinguished Service Award for her involvement in the community, as well as the 2004 Achievement in Communications Award from IABC-LI, and the 40 Under 40 Award from Long Island Business News in 2002.

Frank Calabrese, US Postal Service

Frank Calabrese, US Postal Service

Frank began his US Postal Service career in 1981 as a letter carrier in Pt. Washington, NY, and over the past 34 years, Frank has held numerous managerial positions in Mail Processing Operations, In-Plant Support and Customer Services.

Frank was promoted as the District Manager for the Triboro District in 2011 and in October 2015, Frank was assigned District Manager for Long Island.

As a graduate of the Advanced Leadership Program (ALP) and with his postal experience at all levels of the organization, Frank will no doubt be able to lead the Long Island District to new heights, even with the challenges that are faced by the Postal Service now, and in the years to come.


Glen Boehmer

Glen Boehmer, President of Sentinel Printing

Glen has earned a reputation as a good, honest, and respected friend. As the president of a 150+ year-old graphic arts firm, he transitioned Sentinel from a commercial printer into an innovative and environmentally progressive company that is accredited by the SGP Partnership. He has served on numerous organizational boards including the Hempstead Chamber of Commerce, Rotary, ACIT, PIA, Church council, and soccer boards.

Jamie Stanco

Jamie Stanco, President & CEO of Progressive Marketing Group, Inc. (PMG)

Jamie founded PMG in 1977, and today he is the longest tenured, single agency principal on Long Island. He has a long involvement in a wide range of community activities, is an avid preservationist, and supports several fire departments and water districts.

Helene Kestenbaum

Helene Kestenbaum, Vice President of Sales, at Mailmen Inc.

In her earliest years at Mailmen, Helene was involved in marketing and sales, and teamed up to create Mailmen’s famous jelly bean medicine bottle. She was respected by her colleagues and subsequently served as a role model for all sales people at Mailmen Inc. Helene is a master at fundraising and within her local Jewish Community Center, Helene has orchestrated very popular cabarets, fashion shows and carnivals.


John Princiotta

John Princiotta, SVP of Marketing, Publishers Clearing House

John Princiotta is Senior Vice President of Marketing for Publishers Clearing House, one of the nation’s leading direct mail marketers, and a brand icon closely associated with its sweepstakes. John has been at PCH for the past 29 years, assuming a number of diverse management roles.

During the early part of his tenure at PCH, John led Campus Subscriptions. He also laid the groundwork for PCH’s expansion into the U.K. market before switching gears to head up the credit and collections area. In 1996, John moved back to Marketing and was instrumental in the company’s expansion into merchandise sales, with particular focus on affinity products and continuity marketing.

In John’s current position, he’s responsible for all the company’s direct mail and digital magazine and merchandise marketing efforts, analytics, product strategy, and merchandising.

Prior to joining PCH, John held a number of marketing positions at Philip Morris USA in New York City. John presently serves on the Management Department Advisory Board for St. John’s University’s Peter J. Tobin College of Business.


Ken Greenberg

Ken Greenberg, Founder, Austin & Williams

Ken Greenberg is the founder of Austin & Williams, a member of the 4As (American Association of Advertising Agencies) and the leading advertising and marketing consultancy headquartered on Long Island.

Ken started the agency with retired co-founder William Pesce in 1992. Prior to that he had a 22-year career in retail banking. His last bank position, just before Austin & Williams, was as Vice President-Marketing and Retail Banking at Central Federal Savings Bank, headquartered in Mineola, NY.

Ken’s specialty is database marketing and predictive analysis. Always on the leading edge, he is one of the first to adopt and offer household level lifestyle segmentation. He recently presented Digital Guerilla Marketing Techniques at the NJBankers. A believer in truly big ideas, Ken co-founded Patient Innovations, LLC, a company that provides cloud-based application solutions to improve the patient experience.

Ken is involved in several charities and trade organizations and is a member of the Long Island Association Executive Round Table, Long Island Advancement of Small Business, NJBankers, New Yorks Bankers Association, New England Financial Marketing Association, ACIT and 4As. He’s on the board of the American Jewish Committee, Long Island Chapter, and is Chair of their annual golf outing.





Ernie Canadeo, President and CEO of The EGC Group

Ernie founded EGC in 1985 after working as Director of Co-op Advertising for RCA Records. Since then, he has built EGC into Long Island’s largest advertising and digital marketing agency, with approximately 50 employees and a client roster that includes many prominent national, regional and local clients including Brother International, Canon USA and Latin America, Catholic Health Services of Long Island, Competition Automotive Group, Dowling College, Emerging Vision/Sterling Optical, and STS Tire.

Ernie personally gives back much to the Long Island business and not for profit community. He was named the Entrepreneur of the Year by Advancement for Commerce, Industry, and Technology (ACIT) in 2011, and was honored as the Long Island Man of the Year by the Suffolk Community Council in 2008. He presently sits on several of the most prominent not for profit boards on Long Island including The Long Island Association, where he is a member of the Executive Committee and Co-Chair of the Small Business Committee; the Stony Brook University Alumni Board where he is a member of its Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and is a board trustee of the Long Island Music Hall of Fame. He has previously served on the boards of the United Way of LI, the Thomas Hartman Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, the LI Works Coalition, and the LIA Health Alliance. He lives in Oyster Bay Cove with his wife and twin 16-year old boys.


Steve, President of Image Sales & Marketing/Sunburst Social Media (In Memoriam)

Steve worked in the Direct Marketing field for over 20 years with many fortune 500 companies in all verticals. His expertise and client list range from financial and insurance, to telecom and the record industry as well as retail, B to B and B to C.

Steve’s strategies have driven revenue and profit growth and he directed world-class sales and marketing organizations by implementing a best-in-class sales process with common sense marketing support. He`s been known to negotiate profitable strategic alliances and anticipate and resolve escalated problems for many of his clients.

He consistently developed strategic plans that resulted in significant business expansion, revenue and profit increases, as well as expense reduction for his clients.

Steve was active with many charities on Long Island and in NYC and had many varied business interests.


Phil Horowitz

Phil has been in the printing and direct marketing business for over 50 years. He went to New York School of Printing, graduated in 1962 and worked in a co-op program where he learned to feed and print large pizza boxes by hand into a job press. He also learned to operate the very first Flexography machine.

Flexo took over the hand printing, and became a very important asset in the envelope industry. After finding out he was allergic to a flexo ink that was being made at the time, Phil went to work for the Imperial Envelope Company and Richard King. Dick King took him under his wing and taught Phil about envelopes, flat litho printing and some manufacturing. Dick then let Phil spread his wings by moving him into sales and do some production on his own. Phil worked there until he got drafted into the army for two years. Following the army Phil went back to work for Imperial for several years until King semi retired, leaving him to run the company. When King finally retired; Phil started his own company, Kaylin Envelope and Printing. He took over an imprint company where they developed a way to print Jumbo Envelopes, litho, up to the size 22 x 27, and up to 2 colors. He was one of the first envelope companies to do a complete direct mail Package, doing envelopes and printing on premises.

In 1992 Penn Grover took over Phil’s business where he was a salesman for them. Kaylin was taken over shortly by United Envelope, where Phil is today.

Ernan is recognized as the industry pioneer who created three transformational methodologies: Integrated Direct Marketing, Opt-in Marketing, and Voice of Customer Relationship Research.

Ernan was recently inducted into the Marketing Hall of Fame. He was also named by Crain’s B to B Magazine as one of the “100 most influential people in Business Marketing”.

Ernan’s company provides Customer Experience Marketing consulting services for Fortune and Growth companies such as IBM, MassMutual, QVC, NBC Universal, Microsoft, Hewlett-Packard, and Symantec Corp.

His latest book on marketing best practices is titled, “Voice of the Customer Marketing: A Proven 5-Step Process to Create Customers Who Care, Spend, and Stay.”

Ernan is also the author of the widely read blog, “Ernan’s Insights on Marketing Best Practices”, (www.erdm.com), and author of “Opt-in Marketing” and “Integrated Direct Marketing”.

Tthomashomas J. Berger

Tom Berger has been a leader and contributor to the direct marketing industry for more than two decades. Immediately following graduation from the Rochester Institute of Technology where he earned a BS degree in Management and Marketing, Tom began his career as a founding partner at QED Marketing, Inc. At this boutique service bureau, Tom learned firsthand about direct marketers’ needs and began formulating ideas of how he could build tools and services that would address the critical issues of the day.

In 1991, Tom joined Cross Country Computer (CCC) to oversee finance, sales and marketing. He gradually assumed control of operations and acquired the company in 1996. Today, Tom is Principal, President & Chief Executive Officer of CCC. During his tenure, Tom has overseen the debt-free growth of the company and has been instrumental in strengthening its infrastructure while simultaneously developing new services and diversifying into new business lines.

Tom has developed the vision and design specifications for many of CCC’s proprietary products and services. TBeaut and CBeaut remain best-in-class solutions for B2B marketers by taking various permutations of title and company names and returning uniform, easy to select and aggregate output. In addition, Tom holds the patent for our Abandoned Property Escheat Assignment & Reporting System (APEARS®). Leveraging many of CCC’s best-of-breed data hygiene solutions developed for direct marketers, APEARS® plays a critical role in helping the insurance industry comply with state mandates to identify decedents on policy holder files.

Tom is an active member in numerous direct marketing related organizations and has lent his expertise to assist as a Judge for the International Echo awards. In addition, he served two terms as Treasurer of the Unclaimed Property Professionals Organization (UPPO). Tom has contributed thought leadership via numerous speaking engagements along with articles in DM News, Catalog Age and B-to-B Magazine, and was honored with the 2005 UPHLC President’s Award in part for his work on educating businesses on the importance of proper data handling.

On a personal note, Tom resides in Northport, NY with his wife, who is also his business partner, and their four children. Tom enjoys paddle boarding and kayaking and is a lifetime member of MENSA, the international High IQ society.

Executive Director, Donor Marketing at New York Blood Center

Harvey has been with New York Blood Center and its local affiliate, Long Island Blood Services, for 25 years in a variety of marketing and managerial positions. During his tenure at the blood center, he has focused extensively on the development of programs and strategies to recruit and retain blood donors in pursuit of a safe and ample blood supply for Long Island and the greater New York/New Jersey region. He has made numerous presentations at local and national blood industry forums and published in related journals.
Prior to joining New York Blood Center, Harvey served as a senior marketing executive for Professional Care, Inc., a publicly-owned home health care company and before that for two managed care organizations, including the Community Health Plan of Suffolk, Inc. which he helped establish.

Harvey, a resident of Plainview, NY holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Brooklyn College and a Master’s Degree in Health Services Administration from Stony Brook University.

Direct Marketing Club of New York, Association of Fundraising Professionals, Direct Marketing Fundraisers Association, and National Association of
Women Business Owners.

John is also committed to the community where he lives and works and is the co-founder and provider of the Empowerment Award. The Empowerment
Awards are given to graduating high school seniors with special needs who excel beyond expectations, recognizing them for their outstanding determination and achievement. John seeks out donations and rewards the recipients with new laptops, computers and printers. Past member of the Quogue Volunteer Fire Department.

John is standing member of the Quogue Historical Society, Quogue Wildlife Refuge, and the Quogue Association. John has also served as the Chairman of

Wendy Weber is President of Crandall Associates, Inc., a national executive recruitment firm specializing in all facets of interactive & direct marketing since 1973. She is a second generation leader of the organization, which was the first search firm to recognize the emergence of direct marketing as a major marketing channel. Wendy got her start in direct marketing working in magazine circulation for such publications as Weight Watchers Magazine, Conde Nast Publications and Bon Appetit.

During her years as a marketer, Wendy was named as one of Target Marketing Magazine’s 100 most influential marketers, and was the recipient of two gold and one silver Circulation Direct Marketing Folio Awards. Wendy earned her M.B.A. from Pace University and her diploma in Direct Marketing from New York University. She is a frequent industry writer and speaker, and committed industry participant, having served on the Boards of the Fulfillment Manager’s Association, FIT’s Direct Marketing Advisory Board, DMA Long Island, and the Association of Personnel Consultants of New York.

Her contributions to the advancement of the direct marketing industry include service on the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation Rising Star Awards Fundraising Committee and as past Chairman and member of the DMA’s Committee on Ethical Business Practices.

Starting in 1979 as a Marketing Analyst for PCH, Deborah quickly rose through the management ranks, becoming the youngest person and the first woman to be appointed vice president. With significant accomplishments that spanned marketing, testing, promotion development, customer satisfaction, merchandising, creative and online communications, she was instrumental at virtually every step in the company’s growth and evolution from a single channel, single product line mass direct marketer to a multi-channel database marketer of consumer products and a leading provider of digital play and win entertainment.
